Themes & Motifs goes back to its roots as a wedding planner and coordinator when it brought to life the dream wedding of teleserye actor Miko Raval (The Killer Bride) and UP Diliman alumna and entrepreneur Kaira Dimatulac, his girlfriend of 9 years.
Miko & Kaira originally planned a Tagaytay wedding with a large guest list. They visited Themes & Motifs' Life's Big Events Expo in January 2020 where they booked a Tagaytay wedding venue and other wedding essentials. Both bride and groom were very hands on and decided early in the game to go DIY and deliberately not included a wedding planner / coordinator on their list of wedding planning essentials.
However, Taal Volcano erupted derailing some of their plans and making them reconsider some of their initial choices for their dream wedding. A few weeks after that, the lockdown for the pandemic was implemented by the Philippine government putting weddings and social events to a halt. The turn of events in 2020 put Miko and Kaira, and their wedding, in a bind.
Meantime, Themes & Motifs' pioneering landmark events such as Asia's Biggest Wedding Fair Wedding Expo Philippines (March and September) and The Philippine Wedding Summit (June) were also put on hold as mass gatherings have been prohibited.
Themes & Motifs pivoted to conduct the most successful series of online bridal fairs with a national roadshow that included Bulacan, Rizal, Dumaguete, and Laguna (and soon, Baguio and Cagayan). During this period, it also introduced Love Wins Live Forum where Miko & Kaira became resource speakers (Love Lockdown: Engaged in Covid Times) and The Bridal Marketplace, the fast-growing online community of soon-to-weds, wedding suppliers, and enthusiasts. It was the perfect time to advocate #TuloyAngKasal in the safest, protocol compliant, yet memorable and most instagrammable way possible.
With all the uncertainties and changes that continue to happen in the pandemic, Miko and Kaira decided to engage a wedding coordinator and sat down with Themes & Motifs to co-plan their dream wedding.
#TuloyAngKasal it was and it turned out for them, as Kaira summarized it, "the best day of our lives."
